LABORER - STREETS’s role within the big picture of the City’s overall success.
Performs semi-skilled and manual labor related to the maintenance and repair of streets, roadways, and traffic control systems.
LABORER - STREETS functions include but are not limited to the following:

Roadway Maintenance and Repair:
-
Assist in the maintenance and repair of roadways, including pothole filling, crack sealing, and surface patching.

Traffic Signage Maintenance:
-
Support the installation and replacement of traffic signs, signals, and road markings.

Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on traffic control devices to ensure proper functioning.

Storm System Maintenance:
-
Clear debris from storm sewer and grates, adjusting/replacing manhole ring and covers.

Assist Equipment Operator with line cleaning and televising

Safety and Training:
-
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment.

Respond to emergency situations and assist with traffic management during road incidents or construction activities.

Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices and safety standards.

Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: No previous relevant work experience is required.
Supervisory: No previous supervisory experience is required.
