Job Description
JOB TITLE: Behavior Technician
LOCATION: Franklin Community Schools
SUPERVISED BY: Building Principal & Executive Director of Student Support & Accessibility
DAYS PER YEAR: 180 days
HOURS PER DAY: 7.5 hours per day (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Certification: The Behavior Technician (BT) must have a current Behavior Analyst
Certification Board (BACB) certification as a Registered Behavior Technician.
Qualifications: Experience working with the psychosocial, behavioral, and educational aspects of PK-12 special needs students, specifically with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Overview: The Behavior Technician is under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Student Support and Accessibility and the district’s Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BT is a consulting member of FCS’ Special Services team focusing on behavioral issues, educational, emotional, and transition of students across all settings. Desired skills include but are not limited to assisting with Functional Behavior Assessments and in the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans for students with challenging behavioral needs at various sites throughout the district, monitoring and collecting data on behavior and documenting progress, and collaborating with school staff to coach and implement behavior interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans and skill acquisition programs under the close and ongoing supervision of a BCBA.
- Ability to read and identify essential components of a written Behavior Intervention Plan and Individualized Education Program as it relates to areas of behavioral needs.
- Provide modeling and training to teachers and paraprofessionals on how to implement Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Effectively communicate with team members.
- Assist BCBA with observations and data collection.
- Provide feedback to case managers/teachers of record about interventions.
- Travel to multiple locations within the district.
- Maintain BACB certification as RBT.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures in all FCS schools.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Support and Accessibility
Pay: $21.00 - $22.62 per hour
