Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced sous chef. As a sous chef, you will assist the head chef of our camp in overseeing all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen management while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment in an overnight camp environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service delivery
- Work with the head chef to develop menus that are kosher
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring consistency, presentation, and adherence to dietary requirements
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste through effective stock management
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
- Monitor kitchen operations for quality assurance and continuous improvement in food service
Experience
- Proven culinary experience (2 to 5 years of cooking experience).
- Supervising experience leading kitchen teams
- Knowledge of food industry best practices related to food safety, inventory management, and food handling
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development
- Experience managing restaurant or hospitality operations including menu planning and kitchen workflows
- Strong understanding of dietary requirements and nutrition considerations in menu creation
- Previous experience in restaurant management or food service management roles preferred

3. Extensive culinary experience
4. You must relocate to Wakefield, RI. We provide free room and board on site
