Location: Wolfe Industrial, Inc. shop
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Shop Foreman and/or lead man on project
Supervises: Field crews of up to 20 people
Job Summary:
This person is expected to have a solid understanding of welding various types and thicknesses of metals and hand tool operation (grinders, drills, etc.). He/she must also be knowledgeable of various rigging techniques used to suspend product. This person must have a strong understanding of mechanical equipment, its components, and how to repair different types of equipment as necessary – particularly with respect to preventative maintenance procedures. This person may also be responsible for delivering product to job sites and picking up materials as needed. In addition, this person must be able to effectively communicate with shop, field and customer personnel and handle himself in a professional manner. As lead person, this person is responsible for completing and transmitting payroll in a timely manner. This person may also be asked to draw and submit plans for projects, up to and including job costing, based upon the given scope of work. Organization skills are a must.
Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, able to sit, stand, and stoop for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, able to climb ladders occasionally, competent with welding (tig , mig and stick) various types and thicknesses of metals, read a tape measure and understand basic blueprints, able to operate a forklift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively, in both verbal and written form, with shop, field, and customer contacts.
- Complete and transmit payroll.
- Operate a forklift.
- Weld with a tig, mig, and stick welder.
- Use common hand tools for fabrication of product – including power drills, die grinders, hammers, porta-bans, etc.
- Use shop equipment for fabrication or product – including the shears, press brakes, drill presses, bench grinders, and Do All saws.
- Safely rig product for lifting purposes while fabricating, testing, etc.
- Competency with repairing and completing preventative maintenance on various types of production equipment.
Other:
- Manually load and unload product onto and off of various locations up to 50 lbs. in weight.
- Draw and submit plans for upcoming projects based upon initial scope of work.
- Clean up work area at the end of each shift.
- Operate overhead cranes.
- Drive company vehicles.
Context Information:
Will be held solely accountable and responsible for all work performed on the job. All responsibilities will take place in a well-lit indoor and/or outdoor environment. Long hours, including weekends and holidays, should be expected. Exposure to extreme heat and/or cold, vibration, and unclean/slick/greasy working conditions may be expected dependent upon the task at hand. For this reason, extreme care in selecting the appropriate PPE is of the utmost importance..

The following items will be utilized by the LEAD PERSON - FIELD to successfully fulfill the requirements of this position:
- Personal protective equipment
- Straps, Rope, come-a-longs, and other rigging used for lifting purposes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Current DOT Health Card
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- The ability to read, write, and complete basic mathematic computations
- The desire to learn and the eagerness to accept other tasks and learning opportunities as they present themselves
