UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live and work as active members of their communities. Our Employment Services team operates in a collaborative, mission‑driven environment that combines person‑centered supports with strong administrative and data practices to achieve meaningful employment outcomes.
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
WORK SCHEDULE: Primarily, regular Monday through Friday business/program hours. 8a-4p. Extended day or weekend hours as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working collaboratively with other HR team members to ensure timely preparation of orientation materials

Ensuring various agency invoices are submitted to accounting for timely payment (legal expenses, Concentra, background checks, etc.)

Acting as agency HR representative on external committees, networks, work groups as needed

Ordering and taking inventory of HR department supplies

Working collaboratively with HR team and hiring managers to recruit, screen, and hire new employees

Compiling data as required/requested including but not limited to data associated with applicants

Conducting orientation for new hires ensuring: receipt of/access to agency personnel policies and procedures; receipt of UCP Seguin identification card; benefits documents completing including beneficiaries, MassMutual enrollment whether enrolling or declining, distributing/providing access to agency Benefits guide

Scheduling physicals and fingerprinting (drug testing when applicable) for new hires

Ensuring timely completion of background checks at time of hire and annually thereafter

Verifying all new employee credentials, background checks, and references

Working collaboratively with Employment Director and others to complete surveys and reports including but not limited to: EEO, NCI, OSHA, Census surveys

Ensuring new employee enrollment into agency payroll software

Responding within 24 hours to email and voicemail messages, and in lesser timeframes for urgent matters

Maintaining a cooperative and pleasant demeanor with employees and outside vendors

Ensuring consistent high level of confidentiality as it relates to employee records or other agency records
OTHER DUTIES:

May participate in special projects within work unit or in other Agency department.
