The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Supervisor and supports the Accounting Supervisor and Controller in maintaining accurate and timely financial records. This role assists with day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, financial analysis, and internal reporting while helping ensure accounting processes and policies are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting experience within a manufacturing or production environment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bank research and assist with routine treasury activities.
- Track and reconcile capital expenditures.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
- Support Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor-related accounting.
- Assist with Accounts Receivable activities and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and post month-end close journal entries.
- Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Support cash flow management and working capital initiatives, including Days Payable Outstanding (DPO).
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with maintaining accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support the Accounting Supervisor and Controller with reporting and other accounting initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline preferred. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience participating in the monthly financial close process.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting established deadlines.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
