Construction Site Superintendent

S E Davis Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to oversee daily field operations on an occupied condominium renovation project in La Plata, Maryland. This position will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and quality standards. Future assignments may include commercial, institutional, healthcare, and public construction projects throughout Southern Maryland.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily construction activities and field operations.
- Lead daily safety and coordination meetings with field personnel and subcontractors.
- Manage work in an occupied condominium environment while minimizing disruption to other businesses and maintaining a safe work area.
- Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, inspections, and daily project logistics.
- Read, interpret, and build in accordance with construction drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and contract documents.
- Utilize Procore to manage daily reports, RFIs, punch lists, schedules, photographs, and project documentation.
- Coordinate material procurement and ensure equipment and tools are available to maintain project progress.
- Develop and maintain project schedule and manpower, identifying potential issues before they impact the project.
- Maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.
- Perform quality control inspections and ensure work meets our standards.
- Maintain professional communication with the Project Manager, architects, owners, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- 6-10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial and commercial renovation projects.
- Experience managing occupied renovations, multifamily, healthcare, commercial, or institutional construction projects preferred.
- Proficient with Procore construction management software.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and maintain project schedules.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements and construction best practices.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors and navigate active construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds as required.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
