Armed / Unarmed Patient Watch Security Officer
Day shift: 6AM - 2PM -- Swing Shift: 2 PM - 10 PM--Graveyard: 10 PM - 6 AM
This position REQUIRES possession of a CA state issued Guard Card. The Exposed Firearm Permit is preferred.
Position Overview: The Armed / Unarmed Patient Watch Security Officer is responsible for providing discreet, professional security services in sensitive healthcare environments. This role involves safeguarding patients, staff, and property while maintaining strict confidentiality and respecting patient privacy. The position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate varying client needs and shifts.
Key Responsibilities: Provide armed security presence to deter unauthorized access and ensure a secure environment. Observe and report any suspicious activity or safety concerns discreetly, respecting patient privacy. Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, coordinating with emergency responders when necessary. Enforce facility policies, including privacy and confidentiality protocols, in compliance with legal standards such as HIPAA. Maintain accurate incident reports and security logs, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. Collaborate with healthcare staff, property management, law enforcement, and emergency personnel as needed. Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor at all times to foster a secure environment. Adapt to varying shift schedules, including nights, weekends, and short-notice assignments, to meet client needs.

Minimum Qualifications for Armed Security Officers:
- Must possess and maintain BSIS California Guard Card Certification
- Must possess and maintain a California Issued Exposed Firearm Permit
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledgeable in general security industry standards and methods
- Valid Driver’s License
- Employment is contingent on successful completion of background check
- If prior military, one must provide DD214 discharge document with discharge status upon job offer
Overview of Duties and Responsibilities for Armed Security Officers:
- Provide security services at assigned site according to the site post order duty requirements
- Utilize our tracking software in the performance of daily duties
- Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports as needed
- Collaboration with local law enforcement agencies when necessary
- Maintain visitor and employee access logs
- Maintain a professional appearance
Physical functions and working environment:
- Frequent extended sitting, standing, and walking
- Frequent climbing stairs, ramps, and occasionally ladders
- Frequent bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Frequent reaching and grasping
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds
