Job Title/Position: School Safety Monitor Department/School: Various Campuses

Primary Purpose:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff at assigned school site(s). Provide routine safety duties and TEA
dates. Assist school administration and staff in maintaining order, resolving conflicts, and ensuring that the student school
of conduct and district local board policies are followed on school property.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):
High school diploma or GED; two (2) years of experience in safety of schools, government, industry, military, or law
cement; valid Driver's License and clean driving record; CPR certification; pass screening and TEA background checks.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provide visibility, monitor, and patrol school grounds, entrances, hallways, parking lots, cafeterias, and common areas
to maintain a safe and secure environment.
2. Report all concerns related to health and safety to campus administration, and incidents of misbehavior to the proper
school authority.
3. Follow established emergency response protocols, including lockdowns, secures, evacuations, shelter, and holds.
4. Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, policy violations, or unauthorized individuals.
5. Assist with maintaining secure access control procedures for visitors, students, and staff.
6. Complete all documentation and incident reports as established by campus, department, or district administration.
7. Support arrival, dismissal, and traffic flow operations to ensure student safety.
8. Assist in evacuations of students and staff during drills and emergency situations.
9. Provide visible adult supervision during school hours and school-sponsored activities & events.
10. Work overtime assignments as assigned on any campus within the district.
11. Maintain professional standards and a school environment that is safe and secure for all students and staff.
12. Reinforce school rules, expectations, student code of conduct, and behavioral standards in a consistent and fair manner.
13. Follow the Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws, and State/Federal regulations.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Exercise discretion in the dissemination of information.
- Ability to use two-way radios, computers, and phone systems.

Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands):
Exposure daily to possible adverse weather elements for extended periods of time. Must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or
at least 40 lbs. Maintain emotional control under stress. May be subjected to hazardous conditions. Ability to endure
nuous walking and standing.
