Director of Public Relations

Position Summary
Fresh Start Project is seeking a dedicated and passionate Director of Public Relations to help increase community awareness, strengthen our public image, and support outreach efforts. This individual will be responsible for promoting the organization’s mission, managing public communications, and helping build relationships with community partners, donors, volunteers, and local media.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage social media content across multiple platforms.
- Develop marketing materials, flyers, and promotional campaigns.
- Represent Fresh Start Project at community events, outreach activities, and public meetings.
- Coordinate public awareness campaigns and fundraising promotions.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and media outlets.
- Assist with event planning and community engagement activities.
- Ensure all public communications accurately reflect the organization’s mission and values.
- Monitor public feedback and help maintain a positive public image.
- Work closely with board members and volunteers to promote programs and services.
Required Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Ability to create engaging content and promotional materials.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional and positive attitude when interacting with the public.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Passion for community service, outreach, and helping others.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public relations, marketing, communications, nonprofit work, or community outreach.
- Experience with graphic design programs such as Canva, GIMP, or similar software.
- Knowledge of fundraising and community engagement strategies.
