Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that electrical installations meet all safety standards and code requirements while supporting the seamless operation of our clients’ facilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, interpret schematics and blueprints, and utilize your hands-on skills to deliver high-quality electrical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
- Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation processes.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work with framing carpentry and other trades.
- Conduct routine maintenance on electrical systems and perform upgrades as needed to improve efficiency or safety.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others on site.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification recognized in your region.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code), schematics reading, and blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage wiring, high voltage systems, and power tools.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics related to industrial automation.
- Ability to use testing instruments such as ohmmeters confidently for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry like framing or handyman tasks is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards.
