Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Leader to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced, quick service and casual dining environment. As a Shift Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and leading our team to success. You will be responsible for supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety standards, handling cash and POS transactions, and maintaining inventory control. Duties
- Lead shift operations by coordinating food preparation, cooking, and service activities to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Supervise and train staff on food handling, customer service, POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS), and safety procedures
- Oversee cash handling processes, including balancing registers and managing POS transactions accurately
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and control food costs to optimize profitability
- Enforce food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in compliance with health regulations
- Support kitchen management by supervising food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders, and maintaining high culinary standards
- Assist with interviewing potential team members and participate in staff training & development initiatives
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service management within quick service or casual dining restaurants
- Strong supervisory skills with previous supervising or team management experience
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; cash handling expertise required
- Experience in inventory control, budgeting, and food safety practices
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus; culinary background or fine dining experience is highly valued
- Ability to lead by example, motivate team members, and foster a positive work environment
- Prior experience in training & development of staff members is preferred
