What You Need
- Active MC authority
- Active insurance
- Good standing (we verify)
- Must be an owner‑operator
- Must have your own load boards
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, refrigerated trailers, and other specialized trucks for freight transportation.
- Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
- Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo.
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards.
- Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Manage vehicle inspections, routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain safety standards.
- Document delivery logs, shipment details, and compliance records accurately for each trip.
- Load & unload freight efficiently while ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain professionalism on the road by adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols during route driving.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving across diverse terrains. New truck driver ok.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat) if required.
- Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling experience.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and other specialized vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety compliance standards.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklift or manual handling techniques when necessary.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and delivery driver responsibilities.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance at all times.
