As a Test Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the hardware design and development of automated PCBA and unit-level test stations. This includes designing specialized test equipment for a range of power electronic equipment, such as inverters, onboard chargers, and DC fast chargers. You'll collaborate with automation engineers to automate end-of-line and validation test equipment, and you'll also contribute to the continuous improvement of our test stations for future programs.
-
Architect and lead the design of complex functional test equipment for PCBAs and high-voltage power electronics systems, owning designs from concept through production deployment
-
Define and enforce test equipment design standards, best practices, and reusable design patterns across the team.
-
Author and review electrical wiring schematics, and serve as a technical reviewer on other engineers' design documentation
-
Partner directly with hardware and software engineering project teams to align test system architecture with product requirements
-
Lead design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and Hazard Analyses as a contributor and as a technical reviewer
-
Develop and approve test procedures, defining setup requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurement uncertainty considerations
-
Drive data analysis methodologies and set reporting standards for the team; synthesize complex test results into actionable engineering recommendations
-
Serve as the team's subject matter expert on electronic test instrumentation, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power analyzers, and sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, pressure gauges, flow meters)
-
Lead technical root cause analysis on complex, systemic issues and establish corrective actions that prevent recurrence
-
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, providing day-to-day technical guidance, code and design reviews, and career coaching
-
Partner with the engineering manager to define team priorities, resource plans, and technical roadmaps
