Technical Inside Sales Specialist
Location: Maryland Heights, MO
Job Type: Full-time, in-office
Target Compensation: $90,000 target per year comprised of base + quarterly performance incentive.
About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Inside Sales Specialist to help turn opportunities into revenue. In this role, you will manage active quotes, follow up with customers, and move deals through the pipeline to close. You will also engage with prospects and dormant customers and identify new opportunities to grow the business.
You will also conduct regular market development activities, including industry and opportunity research to collect and develop insights that strengthen pipeline quality, improve customer engagement, and support better sales outcomes.
This position partners with outside sales to build a strong sales pipeline, efficiently close opportunities, and drive revenue growth. If you enjoy building relationships, staying organized, and closing business, this is a strong fit.

What You’ll Do
Drive Sales Results

Manage and advance small to mid-size opportunities from quote to order

Conduct regular market development activities that strengthen pipeline quality, improve customer engagement, and support better sales outcomes

Follow up with customers to answer questions and guide purchasing decisions

Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Pipeline and CRM Management

Maintain sales pipeline data accuracy

Track activity and follow-ups, maintain contact data, and update opportunity stage progression, close dates, and other critical details

Monitor progress and ensure consistent follow-up
Opportunity and Territory Development

Engage with dormant customers or prospects to generate new opportunities

Support sales pipeline health and revenue growth within assigned sales territories
Collaboration and Teamwork

Partner closely with outside sales to support territory goals

Work with marketing, operations, and customer support to resolve issues and improve customer experience

Collect and develop insights on trends, risks, and opportunities to improve territory results
Continuous Improvement

Stay current on products, services, and industry trends

Participate in training and sales meetings

Contribute ideas to improve sales performance and customer engagement
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
-
2+ years of direct sales or customer-facing experience
-
Strong track record of following up on opportunities and closing sales

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Highly organized with strong time management skills

Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and sales activity

Goal-oriented with a history of meeting or exceeding targets

Able to work well with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field, business, or other highly preferred but not required

Experience with consultative or value-based selling

Ability to analyze sales data and identify trends

Familiarity with pipeline management and forecasting
