Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Working Foreman to lead small-to-medium construction crews with a focus on masonry and general construction tasks. The Working Foreman will combine fieldwork with supervisory responsibilitiessetting up work, performing and inspecting masonry and construction activities, coordinating crews and materials, enforcing safety and quality standards, and communicating with project management to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, coordinate and supervise daily activities of construction crews while participating in hands-on work as needed.

Perform and inspect masonry work (brick, block, stone) to ensure quality and adherence to plans and specifications.

Interpret drawings, plans and specifications; lay out work and provide clear instructions to crew members.

Plan and sequence daily and weekly tasks to meet schedule milestones and optimize crew productivity.

Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and subcontractors; maintain proper staging and inventory of materials on site.

Enforce company and regulatory safety policies; conduct toolbox talks and ensure PPE and safe work practices are followed.

Train, mentor and evaluate crew members; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback.

Conduct quality control inspections, identify defects or rework, and correct issues promptly to maintain workmanship standards.

Document labor hours, daily reports, progress photos, and site conditions; communicate progress and issues to project management and clients.

Assist with basic estimating of labor needs, site setup, and bid preparation as requested.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of construction experience with significant masonry experience (brick, block, stone) must have.

Proven supervisory/foreman experience, including leadership of multi-person crews must have.

Strong hands-on skills in general construction and masonry trade tasks must have.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and layout plans.

Solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment required for masonry and related trades.

Commitment to jobsite safety and experience enforcing safety protocols; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate crews, subcontractors, project managers, and clients.

Physical ability to perform and supervise demanding field work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as required.

Nice-to-have: experience in commercial construction, hardscapes (pavers, retaining walls, patios), and landscape construction.
