Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Kids Dance Instructor to inspire young learners through the joy of movement, music, and creative arts. In this role, you will design engaging dance programs tailored for children, foster a positive classroom environment, and nurture each child's love for dance and self-expression. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help children develop their motor skills, confidence, and appreciation for the arts while ensuring a fun, safe, and inclusive space for all participants.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate elements of ballet, creative movement, and performing arts.
- Lead dynamic dance classes that promote physical activity, coordination, rhythm, and creativity among children of various ages.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a supportive learning environment that encourages participation and respect.
- Incorporate teaching methods that utilize visual aids, musical instruments, choreography techniques, and storytelling to enhance engagement.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress and address individual needs or special accommodations.
- Organize performances or showcases to celebrate students’ progress and boost their confidence in front of an audience.
- Maintain a safe space by adhering to all safety protocols related to dance instruction, childcare standards, and classroom management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or recreational settings, especially in arts or dance instruction.
- Strong background in choreography, dance instruction (including ballet), and creative arts education.
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for young learners.
- Experience teaching visual & performing arts, music education, or theater is highly desirable.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and behavior management strategies.
- Skills in working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs or early childhood education backgrounds.
- Additional skills such as photography, sewing, cooking, or childcare experience are a plus but not required.
