The City of Pomona is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to help lead impactful land development and infrastructure projects within our Public Works Engineering Division. This key role oversees land development and building plan check activities, coordinates with internal departments and outside agencies, and provides high-level technical support to the City Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the built environment of Pomona while ensuring projects meet regulatory and community standards.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of land development, building plan check processes, and applicable regulations such as the Subdivision Map Act, ADA requirements, and stormwater mandates. Successful candidates will demonstrate effective supervisory skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to collaborate with developers, consultants, agencies, and the public.

Education and Experience-
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.

Six years of progressively responsible experience in civil engineering.

Experience in land surveying is desirable
License or Certificate-
Possession of, or must obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California.

Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Land Surveyor in the State of California is desirable.
