Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Quality Technician II to join our Distribution Center team. This position is responsible for implementing and sustaining quality assurance processes, conducting quality inspections, supporting specialized material flow processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment with a focus on quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily quality audits and inspections throughout the Distribution Center in accordance with documented audit procedures.
- Monitor product quality and identify defects in raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Report recurring quality issues and collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Initiate product quarantine procedures for serious or recurring quality concerns and lead quarantine rework activities as needed.
- Execute quality-related processes including finished goods rework, re-boxing, and scrap.
- Accurately record inspection and audit results for quality reporting.
- Inspect products for proper appearance, packaging, labeling, and compliance with specifications.
- Use industrial equipment and hand tools to repair quality-related product defects when required.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Support additional quality initiatives and departmental projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications, and procedures.
- Blueprint and product specification reading experience preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, ETQ, and Oracle systems.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attendance and dependability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Stand for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequently bend, twist, squat, kneel, and stoop throughout the workday.
- Perform repetitive hand movements requiring dexterity and coordination.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull:
- Up to 10 lbs continuously
- Up to 25 lbs frequently
- Up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Team lift or mechanical assistance required for items over 50 lbs.
- Perform detailed visual inspections to identify product defects and unsafe conditions.
- Moderate physical activity throughout the shift.
This position has been designated as Safety Sensitive.
