JOB SUMMARY
The Service Tech/Mechanic (Diesel) plays a vital role in ensuring our customers have the finest quality fuel available. As a Service Tech/Mechanic (Diesel), you will be responsible for providing assistance to the Lead Diesel Mechanic with any maintenance issues that arise both onsite (oil & gas industry) and local service to our fleet of transport trucks.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Assist in proper pre & post trip truck and trailer inspections
· Assist in performing diagnosis and repair of trucks, trailers or oil field equipment breakdowns
· Assist with pump repair
· Assist with hose repair
· Assist with the repair and rebuild engines
· Assist with the repair transmissions, driveline and differentials
· Assist with repairs to engine accessory components
· Assist with tune-ups using established procedures
· Assist with the repair steering, suspensions, oil frac equipment, brake systems, turbos, frames, axles, electrical, hydraulic and a/c repairs
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum 3 years of mechanic experience on heavy duty/light duty trucks
o Preferred in oil/gas trucking industry
General electrical knowledge 12 volt and 120 volt
· Ability to work more than 40 hours a week (some nights and weekends when necessary)
· Satisfy all Department of Transportation requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum age of hire is 21 years old
· Required - valid/current state issued driver’s license
· Minimal driving violations (MVR Reporting)
· Pass company issued pre-employment drug screen
ABILITIES REQUIRED
· All candidates must have the ability to speak, read and write English
· Must be able to lift without assistance up to 75 pounds, pushing, pulling up to 50 pounds
· Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
· Ability to maintain professionalism when working with difficult personalities and/or lack of ability to comprehend specified instruction or guidance
· Strong organizational skills
· Extreme focus on time management
· Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
· Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
· Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time without much movement
· Ability to work in time-sensitive environments with non-flexible deadlines
· Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
· Ability to travel 30%-40% of the year to various field locations
· Ability to work collaboratively with all departments within the organization
· Strong drive to consistently meet or exceed objectives and maintain focus
POSITION DETAILS
· Average 50-60 + hours per week
· Paid Per Hour - Overtime pay accrued after 40 hours
· On-call & some weekend work
· Hourly Rate Dependent On: Experience, Rotation, Location
