Creed Pest Control is hiring a full-time Field Service Technician in Ames, Iowa.
This is for someone who wants more than a job.

No pest control experience is required. We pay for your training, help you earn your licenses, teach you the technical side of pest control, and coach you to become excellent at what you do.

What the work looks like:
You will start your day at our shop, prepare your vehicle and equipment, review your route, and head out to serve customers across central Iowa.
Your work may include:
- Pest prevention services for homes and businesses
- Rodent inspections and bait station checks
- Spider, ant, wasp, mole, mosquito, tick, and general pest services
- Bat, rodent, and exclusion inspections
- Using ladders, tools, and equipment
- Working in attics, crawlspaces, basements, garages, and outdoors
- Talking with customers and explaining what you found
- Documenting your work clearly in our app
- Keeping your vehicle, tools, and equipment clean and organized
No two days are exactly the same. Some days are routine. Some days are challenging. Some days you are helping a nervous homeowner understand what is happening and giving them confidence that the problem can be solved.
Who we are looking for
You do not need pest control experience.
You do need to be someone who:
- Wants to build a career, not just collect a paycheck
- Shows up on time and takes commitments seriously
- Enjoys talking with customers
- Takes pride in doing the job right
- Can work independently after training
- Is comfortable with physical, hands-on work
- Can handle ladders, heights, tight spaces, weather, insects, rodents, and crawlspaces
- Communicates clearly with customers and teammates
- Wants to be trained, coached, challenged, and trusted with more responsibility
People with backgrounds in maintenance, construction, landscaping, route delivery, agriculture, military service, warehouse work, customer service, or other hands-on jobs often do well in this role.
This Career is not for everyone
This is real work. It is physical, customer-facing, and sometimes uncomfortable.
This may not be the right fit if you:
- Do not like talking with customers
- Want the same exact day every day
- Are not comfortable around insects, rodents, attics, crawlspaces, ladders, or outdoor work
- Need someone constantly watching over you to stay on task
- Are only looking for short-term work

Training and licensing
Creed pays for your training and licensing.
Within your first 30 days, you will train for:
- Iowa Core Pesticide License
- Category 7A — General Pest
Within your first 90 days, you will train for:
- Category 7B — Rodent Control
- Category 3OT — Structural Pest
These certifications belong to you and are recognized statewide.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, generally 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
This is a full-time, year-round position. Some rotating seasonal Saturday work may be required during busy periods.
Basic requirements
- Valid Iowa driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Able to pass a background check
- Drug-free workplace
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with ladders, confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor conditions
