Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and skilled Dump Trailer Driver to join our dynamic excavation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting materials (such as dirt, gravel, asphalt, and debris) to and from various job sites. Your expertise in handling heavy tractor-trailer combinations will help drive project success from groundwork to finishing touches, ensuring seamless supply lines and site efficiency. Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a commercial truck and dump trailer combination across multiple construction sites, quarries, and disposal areas.
- Material Hauling: Transport, dump, and spread construction materials (such as aggregates, soil, and excavation debris) according to project specifications and on-site directing.
- Inspections & Maintenance: Perform comprehensive daily pre-trip and post-trip routine inspections and maintenance checks on the truck and trailer to ensure optimal performance and DOT compliance.
- Site Collaboration: Coordinate closely with project managers, site foremen, and heavy equipment operators to ensure safe loading and unloading procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance: Strictly follow all FMCSA regulations, local traffic laws, and site-specific safety protocols in diverse environmental and traffic conditions.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate logs of hours of service (HOS), fuel receipts, weight tickets, and vehicle maintenance issues.
- Site Support: Assist with basic on-site duties or material handling as needed when not actively hauling.
Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience safely operating a Class A tractor-trailer, specifically with dump trailers or similar heavy haul equipment.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Sufficient mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues, secure loads properly, and perform minor preventative maintenance.
- Safety Standards: Deep familiarity with DOT regulations and construction site safety standards.
- Physical Adaptability: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform physical tasks associated with securing loads, and maintain high alertness during long shifts.
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
