Duties
- Prepare a variety of pizza dishes, including dough stretching, topping assembly, and baking to perfection using commercial kitchen equipment
- Follow established recipes and menu specifications to ensure consistency and high-quality presentation
- Maintain strict food safety standards by adhering to sanitizing procedures, proper food handling, and hygiene practices
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pizza varieties or seasonal specials based on customer preferences
- Support food production during high-volume periods, ensuring timely service without compromising quality
- Operate kitchen tools skillfully, including knives for ingredient prep and grilling or braising techniques for specialty toppings
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent food service experiences
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Proven culinary experience in a restaurant or food service environment, especially with pizza or similar cuisine
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Hands-on experience with food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and meal assembly
- Strong knife skills and high-volume production experience are highly valued
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and fine dining standards enhances your suitability for this role
