Duties
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing therapy plans tailored to clients’ needs, including those with speech and language disorders.
- Support children and students with disabilities in developing communication skills through engaging activities aligned with individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Conduct speech and language assessments under supervision to monitor progress and inform therapy adjustments.
- Support early intervention programs by working with infants and young children to promote foundational language skills.
- Facilitate telehealth therapy sessions, ensuring smooth delivery of remote services for clients in various locations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including educators, occupational therapists, and medical professionals—to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client progress, therapy activities, and session notes in compliance with organizational standards and confidentiality protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children and individuals with disabilities in educational or healthcare settings.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques for supporting language disorders and speech disorders across pediatric populations.
- Ability to implement speech-language therapy plans effectively while adapting activities for diverse needs.
- Strong understanding of child language development stages and early intervention strategies.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams to support client goals holistically.
- Competence in using telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions.
- Bilingual skills are a plus, especially for serving diverse communities effectively.
