About Cupcake
Cupcake Home Improvements is a fast-growing Austin home-improvement company — roofing, siding, and windows — built on a professional, in-home consultative sales process. We run a proven, fully documented sales system and a live performance dashboard, and we're growing fast.
The opportunity
We're hiring a second Sales Manager to build and lead a growing in-home sales team. You'll start by leading our sales reps and recruiting, hiring, and ramping the people who let us grow. This is a builder's seat: you're standing a team up, not inheriting a finished one, with the backing of a sales system that already works.
You'll report to the CEO and be mentored by our Director of Sales, and run the same playbook he's proven on the team today. The fastest path to success here is to master our system first and prove you can sell — then, build your team.
What you'll do
- Build the team. Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain a growing team of sales reps — without lowering our standards as you scale.
- Onboard and ramp new reps through our structured training path (entry, discovery, home inspection, building urgency, product demo, pricing, closing, and objection handling), with early field check-ins so no new rep runs long unwatched.
- Own your team's numbers — revenue per appointment, demo rate, close rate, and appointment attendance — reviewed on a set cadence against company standards.
- Coach in the field. Ride along on appointments regularly (first within a rep's first handful of solo appointments, again shortly after, then ongoing). Coach proactively and step in early so formal reviews are never a surprise.
- Administer our existing compensation plan accurately and fairly, and hold the line on performance and reliability standards.
- Hold accountability — have the hard conversation early, and follow our defined process when coaching doesn't move the number.
What we're looking for
- Proven sales management experience — you've led a sales team and owned their results. In-home, direct, or other high-accountability sales backgrounds are ideal; home improvement / contracting is a plus, not a requirement.
- A builder — you've recruited, onboarded, and ramped reps before and you're energized by standing up a team.
- Coachable and system-first — you take direction from a sales leader without ego and make a proven process your own rather than rebuilding from scratch.
- A field coach, not a desk manager — you'll be in homes on ride-alongs every week and teach from what you see.
- Numbers-driven — comfortable living on a performance dashboard and holding people accountable to clear targets.
- A high personal standard — reliability, professionalism, and integrity that you model before you ask for it.
What success looks like in your first 90 days
You know our sales system cold, you've proven you can sell it yourself in homes, you're running ride-alongs every week, and your roster is starting to grow — held to the same performance bars we hold across the team.
