Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Pharmacist in Charge to lead our Independent Community Pharmacy team with enthusiasm and expertise. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will serve as the primary point of contact for operational excellence that prioritizes patient safety, medication management, and team development. Your leadership will drive the pharmacy’s success while maintaining the highest standards of pharmaceutical practice.
Duties
- Manage all pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, medication dispensing, inventory control, and adherence to federal and state pharmacy laws.
- Responsible for managing the daily activities in the Pharmacy.
- Provides advice about health issues, symptoms, and medication in response to customer inquiries.
- Orders, sells, and controls medicines and other stock.
- Mainly responsible for controlling and auditing medicine and controlled drugs inventory.
- Meet medical representatives.
- Supervises the entire pharmacy workforce.
- Perform all pharmacist duties required by state and federal laws
- Ensure compliance and reporting requirements of all laws governing pharmacy practice.
- Ensure pharmaceutical regulatory compliance by adhering to HIPAA confidentiality policies and drug regulation guidelines.
- Oversee patient medication therapy management, including patient assessments, medication reconciliation, and clinical interventions to optimize health outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Pharmacy Information Systems to ensure seamless patient care.
- Conduct regular audits of pharmacy operations, including inventory management, drug regulation compliance, and medication administration processes.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist with a background in retail pharmacy settings. Independent Community Pharmacy experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership managing pharmacy teams within community.
- Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems—including Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS). If experience is RX30 software system, it is a plus.
- Experience navigating state and federal pharmacy laws related to drug regulation, immunizations administration, and healthcare compliance policies.
Requirements
· PharmD or bachelor’s in pharmacy degree is MUST
· Florida State Pharmacist License is MUST
· Valid Driver’s License is MUST
· Authorized to work in the USA is MUST
· 1-2 years’ experience as a pharmacist
· Independent Pharmacy Experience is a Plus
