Position Overview
Preferred Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to lead our field crews and oversee residential and commercial concrete projects throughout Southeast Michigan. We are looking for more than someone who can pour concrete—we are looking for a true leader who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship, developing employees, and representing our company with professionalism both on and off the job site.
This position is ideal for someone who leads by example, holds themselves and others to the highest standards, and treats every project as if it were their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and manage field crews while fostering a positive, productive, and accountable work environment.
- Plan and coordinate daily operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
- Maintain the highest level of craftsmanship and quality control from site preparation through final cleanup.
- Read plans, establish grades, and ensure all work meets company standards and applicable codes.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve productivity, skills, and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and office staff.
- Proactively identify and resolve job site issues before they become problems.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites at all times.
- Ensure company equipment, tools, and vehicles are properly maintained and respected.
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of concrete construction experience (Foreman experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of flatwork, driveways, sidewalks, patios, foundations, and decorative concrete.
- Ability to read blueprints, layout projects, and establish grades.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
- CDL is a plus.
- Ability to operate skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
