A healthcare facility in Flushing, New York is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to join its Orthopedics Department.
The orthopedic team provides treatment for a wide range of common and complex musculoskeletal conditions using advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques. The ideal candidate will have prior orthopedic experience and the ability to manage patients throughout the full continuum of care.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Evaluate patients and develop diagnoses and treatment plans
- Manage pre-operative, post-operative, and discharge responsibilities
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies
- Educate and counsel patients and their families
- Perform medical procedures within the Physician Assistant scope of practice
- Assist physicians during orthopedic surgical procedures
- Collaborate with attending physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active New York State Physician Assistant license
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum of one year of experience in an orthopedic private practice
- Strong clinical assessment and patient-management skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
