The Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Suffolk is looking for an experienced Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a busy, established Hilton hotel that serves both hotel guests and local patrons while also supporting banquet events and special functions.

What You'll Do
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Deliver exceptional guest service consistent with Hilton standards.
- Engage with hotel guests and local customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar.
- Accurately process guest checks and payments.
- Ensure compliance with all Virginia ABC laws and responsible alcohol service practices.
- Assist with banquet events, receptions, meetings, and catered functions as needed.
- Help set up, service, and break down banquet events.
Bar Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Sunday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Additional hours may be available through banquet events and hotel functions.
Requirements
✔ Previous bartending experience required
✔ Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
✔ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✔ Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
✔ Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
✔ Must be able to comply with Virginia ABC alcohol service requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Hotel bartending experience
- Banquet or event service experience
- TIPS Certification
- Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and cocktail preparation
