Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Phlebotomist / Medical Assistant to join our clinical team on a PRN basis with the opportunity to transition into consistent part-time hours as patient volume grows.
The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in venipuncture and specimen collection while also being comfortable performing routine Medical Assistant responsibilities. This position will support our providers with in-office patient care, laboratory services, clinical procedures, and general practice operations.

Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Properly identify, label, process, prepare, and package laboratory specimens.
- Follow appropriate specimen-handling, infection-control, and safety procedures.
- Perform routine Medical Assistant duties, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, medication lists, allergies, and other clinical information.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits.
- Assist providers with appropriate in-office procedures and treatments.
- Perform or assist with injections, point-of-care testing, EKGs, TB testing, drug screening, and other clinical services when properly trained and authorized.
- Support physical examinations, primary care visits, medical weight-management appointments, and wound-care visits.
- Assist with wound measurements, photographs, dressing changes, and wound-care preparation when trained.
- Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
- Maintain clinical and laboratory supplies and monitor inventory.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination and laboratory areas.
- Coordinate laboratory orders and follow established workflows with Eilato's laboratory partners.
- Assist with patient scheduling, follow-up, referrals, and care coordination when needed.
- Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, group-home/facility staff, laboratories, pharmacies, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Perform additional clinical and administrative duties within training and scope as assigned.
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certification or formal phlebotomy training strongly preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training preferred.
- Strong venipuncture skills required.
- Previous experience performing blood draws in a physician office, laboratory, hospital, urgent care, or similar healthcare environment preferred.
- Comfortable working with patients who may be difficult draws.
- Knowledge of specimen collection, labeling, processing, and handling requirements.
- Experience with routine Medical Assistant responsibilities preferred.
- EHR/EMR experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Willingness to cross-train across Eilato's clinical service lines.
- Primary care and/or wound-care experience is a plus but not required.
Schedule
- PRN to Part-Time
- Eilato's normal clinical operations are Monday through Thursday.
- Hours will initially be scheduled based on patient volume and clinical/laboratory needs.
- Opportunity for increased and more consistent part-time hours as the practice continues to grow.
- Occasional scheduling flexibility may be required based on provider and patient needs.
