Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Helper to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will assist skilled machinists and technicians in preparing, maintaining, and operating various machine tools and equipment. Your energetic approach will contribute to efficient production processes, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety standards. KEY Responsibilities
- Run horizontal saws
- Run vertical saws
- Operate beveling machines
- Operate belt sander
- Assist with equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- Maintain equipment maintenance and repair logs as assigned
- Operate forklift for material movement and staging
- Fill coupon manufacturing orders
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations
- Prepare materials for coupon manufacturing and shop operations
- Maintain housekeeping standards in cutting and staging areas
- Identify equipment issues and escalate major repairs
- Ensure safe equipment operation and PPE compliance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and factory standards for tooling, packaging, and waste disposal
- Support quality control processes by inspecting finished parts for accuracy and consistency using basic math skills and measurement tools
Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience operating industrial cutting equipment
- Ability to read measuring tools including tape measures, calipers etc.

- Basic Customer Drawing and material specification interpretation skills
- Strong attention to detail and dimensional precision
- Understanding of material types including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy materials, and nickel-based alloys (Inconel)
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment maintenance capability
- Commitment to safety and operational discipline
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials in accordance with safety guidelines
- Familiarity with factory experience involving manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, tooling setup, materials handling, packaging, assembly line work, welding, and quality control
- Ability to use hand tools effectively along with precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for quality assurance
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with factory safety protocols enhances your ability to thrive in this role.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
