Position Summary
This position provides hands-on experience supporting the security and integrity of data at Revecore. Working under the mentorship of the Information Security team and reporting to the Director of Information Security, the Security Analyst Intern will assist with day-to-day security operations, including alert monitoring, vulnerability management, endpoint security, and compliance support. The intern will gain practical experience with the Revecore security stack, including SentinelOne, Rapid7, ConnectWise Automate, Absolute Control, and internally developed security tools, while contributing to projects that protect Revecore's sensitive information.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily monitoring, triage, and documentation of security alerts generated by SentinelOne under the guidance of senior team members
- Support vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation tracking using Rapid7
- Assist with endpoint management and patch compliance activities using ConnectWise Automate
- Support asset visibility and device compliance monitoring using Absolute Control
- Assist with the testing, documentation, and maintenance of internally developed security tools
- Help document security procedures, findings, and remediation activities in accordance with team standards
- Assist with information security audits and evidence collection supporting compliance initiatives
- Support security awareness and phishing training initiatives for employees throughout the organization
- Research current threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends and share findings with the team
- Escalate suspected security incidents promptly and assist with incident documentation under direction of the security team
- Participate in team meetings and project work as assigned
Skills and Experience
- Currently enrolled in, or graduated within the last 12 months from, an associate or bachelor's degree program in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline
- Foundational understanding of TCP/IP, computer networking, and common security concepts (malware, phishing, vulnerabilities, access control)
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; exposure to Linux a plus
- Interest in endpoint detection and response (EDR), vulnerability management, and security operations; hands-on exposure to tools such as SentinelOne or Rapid7 a plus
- Exposure to scripting (PowerShell or Python) a plus
- Entry-level security certifications (CompTIA Security+, Network+) or coursework a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a mentored environment
- The ability to work well independently or with a team
- Capable of meeting deadlines on assigned work
