Lead Refurb Tech
A-1 Golf Carts is looking to add a few members to the family. We are a family owned and operated EZGO golf cart dealership in the southeast valley. We have around 45 employees and are growing every year. We are looking for someone who values the importance of enjoying your job and will come in with a positive outlook and ready to work as a team!
There are two parts to our dealership, we sell many golf carts through the retail outlet as well as manage a gas powered lease fleet of over 1,000 golf carts used in events across the state and outlying states of Arizona.
Job Title: Refurbish Golf Cart Technician
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refurbish Golf Cart Technician to join our team. In this role, you will take used, trade-in, or fleet electric golf carts and completely transform them into high-quality, like-new vehicles. You will be responsible for full mechanical diagnostics and standard refurbish installations. If you have strong automotive mechanics or assembly experience and enjoy seeing a project through from a bare chassis to a finished factory-clean build, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Teardown & Diagnosis: Disassemble incoming golf carts, evaluate the frame integrity, and diagnose mechanical and structural issues.
- Mechanical Overhauls: Repair or replace brakes, suspension parts, steering columns, wheel bearings, and transaxles.
- Refurbish Modifications: Install replacement body components, rear flip-seat kits, U-Box cargo and utility storage boxes, voltage reducers, and standard electrical accessories.
- Cosmetic Refurbishing: Replace or repair body plastics, windshields, roofs, and upholstery. Perform minor body tracking, cleaning, and detailing to ensure a showroom-finish.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous post-build test drives and multi-point safety inspections to ensure complete vehicle reliability.
- Shop Maintenance: Document parts used for inventory management and maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a golf cart technician, automotive mechanic, or electric vehicle (EV) tech.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with mechanical diagnostics and standard hand/power tools. Ability to read and interpret basic assembly diagrams and technical manuals.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50–80 lbs, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods.
- Tools: Ownership of standard mechanic's hand tools and a toolbox.
- License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Traits: Strong problem-solving abilities, high attention to aesthetic detail, and the ability to work independently.
What We Offer
- Compensation: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Summer Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Beat the afternoon heat!)
- Winter Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
