Job Title: Lead Master Technician

Position Summary:
The Lead Master Technician is the shop’s top technical expert, responsible for performing the most advanced diagnostics and repairs while mentoring and supporting the entire technician team. This position ensures the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency are met and plays a key role in technical leadership, training, and workflow optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex diagnostics and repairs on vehicles, engines, and systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic).
- Serve as the primary technical authority in the shop, assisting technicians with difficult repairs and troubleshooting.
- Provide coaching, training, and hands-on guidance to junior and mid-level technicians.
- Work closely with the Shop Foreman and Service Manager to assign work, maintain workflow, and manage priorities.
- Ensure all repair work meets manufacturer standards and company quality expectations.
- Review and verify repair documentation, parts usage, and service records for accuracy.
- Test, evaluate, and validate new diagnostic tools, repair procedures, and equipment.
- Uphold shop safety policies, cleanliness, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors, customers, and management on technical issues or recommendations.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional experience as a technician or mechanic.
- ASE Master Certification (or OEM Master Technician status) required or in progress.
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with computerized and mechanical systems.
- Proven leadership or mentoring experience in a service environment.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with digital work order systems and diagnostic software.
Pay: $32.84 - $43.55 per hour
