Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our team at our Woolbright Road location. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong background in developing engaging curriculum for young children. This role offers an opportunity to lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and support the developmental growth of toddlers through innovative teaching methods and compassionate care. The Lead Toddler Teacher will play a vital role in creating a positive learning atmosphere that promotes curiosity, social skills, and foundational knowledge in early childhood development.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum focused on toddler care, literacy education, and early intervention strategies.
- Plan and execute daily lesson plans that incorporate preschool, and other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support positive social interactions and emotional development.
- Conduct assessments of children's progress using standardized testing methods and document developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss child welfare, progress reports, and individualized education plans when necessary.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional strategies.
- Maintain compliance with childcare regulations, health standards, and safety protocols.
- Incorporate physical education activities to promote motor skills development among toddlers.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education, and early childhood teaching methodologies.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including early intervention, literacy education, and behavior management.
- Experience with curriculum development tailored for toddlers with diverse needs including special education considerations.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques that foster a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate educational frameworks such as preschool or daycare settings.
- Experience working with children in various educational settings such as private schools or daycare centers.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment.
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and best practices in childcare environments.
