*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our team. In this role, you will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care within an outpatient setting located in an ILF/ALF facility. Our specialty is aquatic therapy. Your primary focus will be on supporting patients during their rehabilitation process, ensuring a safe and effective environment for recovery. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in healthcare, particularly in areas such as orthopedics and acute care.
*Duties*
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy spaces.
- Document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients about their treatment plans and encourage adherence to prescribed exercises.
- Ensure patient safety during therapy sessions by monitoring their condition and responding to any needs.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with healthcare staff.
*Requirements*
- Knowledge of physiology and basic principles of physical therapy is preferred.
- Experience in a hospital or acute care setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to inpatient care is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and support.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
- Prior experience in orthopedics or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
