SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for helping in the packaging area. This is a key role in the process and the position will be focused on the following areas; cleaning, wrapping, cutting cheese, prepping orders, quality and safety. This position is a hands-on position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
70% Packaging product
- Review the production schedule as needed
- Cutting wheels of cheese
- Wrapping individual pieces of cheese
- Putting finished product in cases and storage coolers
30% Cleaning throughout the creamery
- Clean tools, parts, floors, and walls
- Clean cheese wheels
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completing additional cleaning assignments
- Carry out all reasonable requests by management to assist in any area of the plant as needed.
- Help with inventory when needed such as production supplies, chemicals, and other supplies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- High School degree not required
- HACCP a plus.
- ServSafe Certified a plus.
- Must have basic computer skills
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures for cheese making equipment.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to utilize strong problem solving skills and develop new ideas and solutions to problems.
- Ability to multitask and adjust priorities with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to exhibit attention to detail.

- Be standing on your feet for the majority of the workday in addition to walking back and forth.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Lifting while turning side to side is sometimes necessary.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to work in a cool environment as well as a warm environment.
- Position sometimes requires extended hours including evenings and/or weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Standing most of the work day is required.
- Work requires movement in and out of store rooms, and coolers
- Exposure to temperatures (hot and cold) due to heating and refrigeration equipment.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
