Full Job Description

Sunrise Services is seeking an HR Director to join the Team!

Sunrise Services has been around since 1977 serving vulnerable populations. The HR Director is responsible for the development and implementation of Human Resource systems, programs, policies and procedures in support of the company mission.

Our mission is to provide for the unmet needs of people in our communities and honor our employees who serve them.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure company compliance with a broad array of state and federal laws governing employment, including the Fair Labor Standards Act, wage and hour laws, Americans with Disabilities Act, and civil rights laws.
Assist supervisors to prepare evaluations, provide advice on performance coaching and disciplinary issues, conduct termination meetings, and assist supervisors in administering discipline. Work as a strategic partner with supervisors.
Conduct employee relation activities, respond to employee complaints, mediate disputes between employees and supervisors, advise supervisors and employees on communications issues, interview employees to obtain feedback, conduct exit interviews.
Direct the company’s affirmative action/equal opportunity employment efforts: monitor recruitment efforts for compliance with plan and current laws, collect and process affirmative action data, prepare required reports, respond to complaints of harassment or unlawful discrimination.
Participate in the planning and selection of certain employee training programs to meet program requirements and ensure proper support is available to clients.
Conduct training on personnel issues, including interviewing, performance coaching and evaluations, discipline, and sexual harassment.
Support benefits specialist and assist with benefits planning and administration.
Support HR Generalists with job-related processes.
Write job descriptions for new positions and revise existing job descriptions as needed.
Write, interpret, and regulate company personnel policies. Prepare policy drafts for President’s approval; communicate policy information to employees both verbally and in writing.
Update and monitor employee handbook for accuracy and legal compliance as needed, keeping a client centered focus.
Write and edit reports, letters, and other documents for President on employment-related issues.
Review procedures related to personnel with the accounting and payroll department to ensure accurate human resource controls and to ensure client service needs are supported by these procedures.
Initiate proposals for changes or additions to personnel system.
Attend professional human resource meetings and remain abreast of personnel laws and regulations.
Keep abreast of contemporary recruitment trends and practices.

Wage:

$85,009.60 - $124,820.80 per year
All wages depend on applicable experience, license, and education.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, full-time
8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Requirements:

Educational Requirements, Certifications and/or licenses:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Industrial Relations, Public Management, or other appropriate field required, with significant course work in human resource management required.

Master’s Degree and/or PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Ten years experience in human resource management required; supervisory or management experience preferred: experience in human services highly desirable

DSHS background clearance required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communication (oral and written), listening, facilitation, negotiation, and mediation skills required; strong leadership, teaching and organization skills essential; attention to detail, creativity, flexibility, dependability, professional appearance and demeanor; a positive attitude is essential.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to read and understand complicated documents discussing human resource management issues and complete government reports; ability to operate a personal computer (word processor, spreadsheet, and database software); ability to use a 10-key adding machine and perform simple math functions; ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in frequently stressful circumstances; ability to organize work and priorities to meet deadlines.
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Demonstrated commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.
Displays positive communication skills when involved in problem solving or disputes with other individuals or in groups
Adherence to professional and ethical standards of practice.
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws.

Paid vacation - Earned at .04 per hour worked for hourly employees, and 6.67 per month for salary (equates to about 2 weeks per year for full-time employees)

Sick Leave - 1 hour per 40 hours worked (equates to about 52 hours for full-time)
