Position: CNC Programmer - Steel Fabrication
Location: Clackamas, OR
Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 + / hr DOE Schedule: Full-Time Monday - Friday
Who We Are:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join a growing steel fabrication team. This role is responsible for creating, optimizing, and managing CNC machine programs used in structural steel production while ensuring quality, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the fabrication process.
What You'll Do:
- Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for cutting, drilling, punching, and fabrication operations
- Utilize software such as SigmaNEST, PeddiMat, AutoCAD, and related CAD/CAM programs
- Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, nesting layouts, and production work orders
- Optimize material utilization and reduce waste through efficient programming strategies
- Perform program simulations and verify machine instructions before production
- Collaborate with machine operators, foremen, project managers, and fabrication teams
- Troubleshoot programming issues and make adjustments as project requirements change
- Validate programs to ensure compliance with fabrication standards and project specifications
- Maintain software libraries, tooling databases, and machine configuration files
- Assist with process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and throughput

What You Need To Have:
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience
- Experience in structural steel fabrication or a related manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with SigmaNEST, PeddiMat, AutoCAD, or similar CAD/CAM software
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Knowledge of CNC machinery, tooling, material properties, and fabrication processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems
- High School Diploma or GED
The Musts:
- 3+ years of CNC Programming experience
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication and engineering drawings
- Experience optimizing CNC programs for efficiency and accuracy
- Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances and quality requirements
- Reliable transportation and ability to work on-site in Clackamas
Preferred:
- Structural steel fabrication experience
- Technical or vocational training in CNC Programming, Drafting, or Manufacturing
- Experience with beamline, plate burner, and angle master machines
- Knowledge of nesting software and material optimization techniques
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
