Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Expanded Duty Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about dentistry and has experience in various aspects of dental assisting.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Record patient vital signs and medical histories accurately.
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry, making children feel comfortable during their visits.
- Manage dental reception tasks, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Assist with endodontic procedures as needed, demonstrating knowledge of relevant techniques.
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient management, record keeping, and billing processes.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is necessary.
- Proficiency in infection control practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical coding is a plus.
- Experience with X-ray technology is highly desirable.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
- Certification or training in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory.
