We are recruiting for an industrial painter OR an apprentice painter that would be trained by our current staff. This is a versatile individual contributor position handing all aspects equipment painting from pre-paint preparation to proper disposal of waste and clean-up. The painter will apply specialized coatings, primers, and paints to heavy machinery, vehicles, and industrial components. Their primary goal is to ensure a durable finish that protects equipment from corrosion, wear, and environmental damage. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Pre-paint preparation:
- Clean, wash equipment to remove rust, old paint, dirt, and oils. Use chemical rinses or masking to protect unpainted areas.
- Sanding to remove rust or to prep surface for primer to industry standards.
- Final cleaning and tack rag.
- Taping and bagging off critical components that we do not want painted.
Mechanical ability to disassemble/reassemble items for paint
Prime and paint:
- Correct mixing/match of paints based on manufactures instructions.
- Use the correct flash and tack times per manufacturer’s instructions.
- Effective use of paint spray techniques to ensure a quality finish.
- Ability to paint equipment with many angles and pieces.
Quality Control: Inspect painted units for runs, drips, or uneven coverage. Perform touch-ups and ensure the finish meets exact technical or military specifications.
Equipment cleaning and maintenance:
- Clean, disassemble, and maintain all paint related equipment including, cleaning of spray gun and components, pot sprayer, electro-stat and lines, ventilation equipment, to keep them in safe, working order.
- Spray booth maintenance including, cleaning/replacement of lights, changing all filters as required (intake and exhaust).
- Replacement of floor/wall dirt trap as needed.
- Minor repairs such as changing lines, drive belt replacements, air couplers etc.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to guidelines on proper disposal of chemical waste and the use of PPEs (respirators, safety goggles, protective suits, etc)
· Ordering/stocking paint and consumables for jobs and keeping stock organized in cabinets
Pay: $20.59 - $25.61 per hour

Experience:
