Operating under a policy governance model, the Headmaster/Principal reports directly to the Board of Directors and maintains full operational authority over the school. This role requires a leader who can skillfully integrate faith and learning while nurturing a deep enthusiasm for discovery.
● Spiritual Leadership: Act as the primary spiritual shepherd for faculty, students, and families, ensuring all instruction is biblically grounded. You will foster a joyful culture defined by integrity, humility, and compassion.
● High Educational Standards: Safeguard and advance a rigorous classical curriculum (trivium and quadrivium). Our academics hold high standards while weaving the truth of God's word throughout all disciplines to equip future leaders as critical thinkers.
● Multifaceted Learning Environment: Lead a community that values learning both in the traditional classroom and through hands-on outdoor exploration. Outdoor education at SCA is a core enrichment experience where creation intentionally complements classroom studies in science, geography, and history.
● Strategic Stewardship: In partnership with the Board, drive long-term strategic goals, including enrollment growth and fiscal health, while maintaining our commitment to ACSI accreditation standards.
Desired Qualifications
● Spiritual Maturity: A vibrant Christian faith and a life of impeccable character respected as trustworthy.
● Academic Credentialing: A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in Educational Leadership or a related field is highly preferred. A Washington State Teacher Certification is also preferred.
● Classical & Outdoor Expertise: Deeply conversant in classical Christian pedagogy and an advocate for the value of experiential learning in the natural world.
● Professional Competence: Proven experience in managing personnel and budgets with strategic decisiveness while building transparent, supportive relationships with parents.
