Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service flow
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed to meet customer demands
Experience
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety management and safety standards in production environments
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and proficiency in food preparation methods
- Experience with meal preparation, recipe adherence, and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen setting
