Production Design Intern (Part-Time)
Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly detail-oriented College Intern for a part-time, technical role focused on packaging production and image correction. This position offers 15–20 hours per week (Mon - Fri) with a highly flexible schedule designed to accommodate your class or school commitments.
Your primary responsibility is to take existing brand designs and meticulously prepare them for production by applying UPC barcodes, item numbers, regulatory text, and formatting layout die lines. You will also perform routine photo manipulation and image correction on photography assets. While creative design is not required for daily tasks, strong performance and accuracy can open doors to creative opportunities down the road.

Location: In-Office; Bowling Green, KY | Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt | Pay: $15.00/hour
Responsibilities
- Packaging Production: Apply UPC barcodes, SKU/item numbers, ingredient lists, and warning labels onto established packaging templates and die lines.
- Image Correction: Perform non-destructive photo editing, color balancing, masking, background removal, and minor retouching on photography assets.
- File Preparation: Format and organize layout files to ensure they meet technical print specifications (bleed lines, safety zones, and link management).
- Asset Organization: Maintain a clean and consistent digital filing system for all product variations and images.
- Working efficiently and flexibly to meet tight print and production deadlines.
- Effectively copes with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; isn't upset when things are up in the air; doesn't have to finish things before moving on but is excellent with follow-through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Adobe Illustrator Proficiency: Must understand how to manipulate paths, organize layers, and place text/vectors accurately onto packaging die lines.
- Adobe Photoshop Proficiency: Must understand non-destructive photo editing, clipping masks, adjustment layers, and color correction.
- Adobe InDesign Literacy: Basic proficiency in layout formatting, link management, and text styling.
- Extreme Attention to Detail: Absolute accuracy when handling alphanumeric codes (UPCs, SKUs) and strict adherence to formatting guidelines.
- Reliability: Ability to manage your flexible hours effectively and communicate layout progress clearly.
- Comfortable working within Google Apps.
- Comfortable in a deadline-driven department.
- A highly effective communicator and collaborator.

- Able to take direction and prioritize tasks.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and work on a computer for duration of shift in a cubicle environment.
