Title of Job: Stainless Steel Operations Technician
Length of Assignment: This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity for the candidate to be hired on permanently.
Pay: $28/hr.
Location: 100% on-site in Carlsbad (local candidates only)
Hours & Schedule: Typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week.
Flexibility: There is flexibility for the candidate to start between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. This flexibility is typically granted after an initial two-week rigid training period.
Daily Responsibilities: The technician will process stainless steel containers, primarily for the M Forward program.
Equipment Testing: Tasks include performing leak checks, particle checks, and moisture checks using specialized equipment.
Assembly: The role may involve performing container builds.
Documentation: Candidates must follow established work instructions and read technical drawings.
Education: A high school graduate is acceptable, provided they have a growth mindset and a willingness to learn technical processes.
Years of Experience: A minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel and Word) is essential. The ability to read technical drawings is required.
Preferred Skills: Experience with SAP is a preferred skill set that would make a candidate stand out.
Background: The ideal candidate is hands-on and may have a background in the chemical industry. Investigative characteristics and strong communication skills are highly valued.
Interview Process: The process will begin with a virtual interview. There is an option to conduct subsequent on-site interviews.
Your Role:
The primary responsibility of the Stainless Steel Operations Technician is to build, test and document the manufacturing of various sizes of containers for delivery of ultra-pure materials used in semiconductor manufacturing processes. Most tasks are performed in a cleanroom environment necessitating strict adherence to protocol to maintain cleanliness. The Stainless Steel Operations Technician will operate various pieces of equipment to ensure the quality and integrity of the containers built. They will document their daily activity and provide input to prototype container builds when needed. Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Read and understand written and verbal instructions
- Read and interpret technical assembly drawings, electrical schematics and P&IDs
- Ability to troubleshoot electromechanical issues
- Perform disassembly and assembly utilizing hand and electronic tools
- Perform test on container hardware and electrical components
- Ability to interpret various gauges and measurement devices
- Understand fluid flow through a system when valves are opened and closed
- Operate various types of semi-automated washing and drying equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Clear and concise record keeping
- Proficient in Microsoft products ( Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Identify job related safety hazards and communicate concerns to management
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diplomas or GED
- 2+ years electromechanical assembly
- 2 + years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SAP
- Knowledge of helium leak detecting
- Good interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication
- Prior use and understanding of torque wrenches
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies
