Oakland Surgi Center is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join an exceptional team and to help us continue to grow into a best-in-class outpatient surgical center.
Because we are a physician-owned ASC and not affiliated with a hospital, we are able to offer perks not available in a hospital setting. We’re open Monday through Thursday, no weekends, overnights or holidays. We have the opportunity to get to know our patients personally and take a leading role in their care. Oakland Surgi Center also holds Joint Commission accreditation and is fully certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and licensed by the State of Michigan.
The right candidate for this role will be able to work well with a team, be detail oriented, and have a dedication to safe and quality patient care. Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Obtaining/charting patient vitals
- Starting IV's
- CLIA-waived testing
- Instrument sterilization
- Assisting nurses in post-anesthesia care
- Cleaning and restocking
- Operating fluoroscope for minimally invasive procedures
- Assisting physician in OR
Minimum requirements:
- Have a current BLS certification
- Have the ability to pass a background investigation
- At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant training program
Preferred qualifications:
- Fluoroscopy experience
- Experience starting IV's
- Experience in an ambulatory surgical center
- Pain management experience
- Use of electronic medical records
Candidates looking for a summer job or those whose availability will change during the school year will not be considered. This is a full-time, Monday through Thursday (with Fridays as needed) day-shift position. Candidates who do not have regular Monday through Thursday daily availability will not be considered. This is not a temporary position.
