Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Lead to oversee daily manufacturing operations within our production facility. This role is vital in ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high-quality standards. As a Production Lead, you will coordinate teams, manage equipment, and uphold safety protocols to deliver exceptional products on time. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement and foster a collaborative environment focused on operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Will work under direct supervision of the Production Supervisor and have ability to work well with others.
- Must follow HACCP, GMP and Safety guidelines (training will be provided).
- Will train employees in all facets of their jobs, including production operations, paperwork, GMP, HACCP and Safety Procedures.
- Will conduct Safety Meetings with line employees.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be issued as needed and must be worn at all times.
- Must work with employees at giving them a level of ownership in the processes they perform.
- Must be able to evaluate, resolve or the ability to escalate various problems as they arise.
- Will direct the work of others and effectively coordinate efforts with other departments.
- Will oversee the proper operation and setup of processing equipment.
- Will conduct daily equipment pre-op and product changeover inspections.
- Must work to maintain and verify production performance levels and eliminate downtime.
- Work with the Maintenance Department to see that all equipment is properly maintained and coordinate for repairs when needed.
- Will work closely with the production scheduler in coordinating daily production runs and material staging.
- Will be responsible to provide any information needed throughout the production line
- Must be familiar with quality programs and procedures, i.e. HOLD procedures, GMPs, SANITATION in food plant, Company policy.
- Monitor employee’s adherence to GMP’s throughout the facility.
- Must be a driven force for Continues Improvement and line efficiency.
- Monitor integrity of HACCP (Food Safety) plans.
- Perform other reasonable job-related duties as requested.
- Ensure that all Food Safety, GMP, Food Quality and Employee Safety rules and programs are followed.
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
- Must have 3 to 6 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Language Skills - Must be able to read and write in English, bi-lingual a plus. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk and sit.
- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Employee must submit to post offer, pre-employment drug test and employment history check.
- Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Work Environment
- Must be willing to work in refrigerated environment – Cold/Wet 38°F
- Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as scheduled or needed.
