Licensed Veterinary Technician
Nova Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team.
We’re a privately owned, dog-and-cat-only veterinary hospital in Bloomington. We put a lot of emphasis on preventive care and client education, practice evidence-based medicine, and believe it’s a whole lot easier to prevent problems than to fix everything after it has gone sideways. Of course, things still go sideways sometimes—and when they do, we’re equipped to deal with it.
We’re looking for an LVT with solid general practice skills. You should be comfortable assisting with appointments, performing treatments, collecting samples, monitoring anesthesia, taking radiographs, performing dental prophylaxis, preparing surgical patients, and helping keep the hospital moving throughout the day.
Basically, we want you to use the skills you went to school for. You put a lot of time and work into getting that education, and we think you should have the opportunity to actually use it in a meaningful way.
You’ll be part of the medical team, and your input matters here.
We don’t expect anyone to know absolutely everything. We do want someone with a strong foundation who pays attention, asks questions when needed, is open to feedback, and wants to keep learning.
We like working with people who are kind, dependable, communicate well, and are willing to jump in when the team needs them. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves all the time, and being able to laugh together goes a long way.
Speaking of laughing, our practice owner still chuckles approximately 327 times per day and remains committed to showing everyone puppy videos from Instagram. Individuality is welcome here. Tattoos, brightly colored hair, unusual hobbies, and questionable pizza toppings are all acceptable.
We also believe you should have a life outside of work. There are no overnight shifts, no after-hours emergencies, and no on-call requirements. We are open Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with those shifts shared across the team—which works out to about one Saturday a month. We keep Saturdays intentionally lighter too—no drop-offs and no squeezing in work-ins, just regular appointments for clients who need a little weekend availability.
Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, fully paid employee health insurance premiums, optional dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, an employee pet-care discount, and a scrub allowance.
Compensation is based on experience, and we absolutely recognize the value that comes with being a licensed technician. Your education, credentialing, and experience matter, and your pay should reflect that.
If this sounds like the kind of place you’d like to work—and the kind of team you’d like to be part of—we’d love to hear from you.
