American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Oncology/Women's Surgical unit position requiring at least 2 years of oncology experience, an active NC or compact RN license, and Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC).

Work on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit (9K) on the 9th floor of an 815-bed hospital
-
Patient population includes oncology and women's surgical cases
-
Patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5
-
Day shift schedule: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
-
Unit uses Cerner EMR
-
Standard unit equipment in use

Typical procedures include occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis

Staff are required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
-
On-call is rare
-
Floating to other med/surg units may be required, though the team rarely floats
-
24-week contract
-
Active RN license — NC state license or compact RN license required
-
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) required for all RNs working in oncology

Minimum 2 years of recent oncology RN experience required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Unit is staffed with 42 total staff members; day shift includes 1 Charge Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 4–6 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)

Ideal candidates are team players who are willing to learn

RN dress code: navy, white, or a combination of both colors

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Chemo certification is preferred but not required — candidates with it will be considered first
