We are currently seeking an experienced Multifamily Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for an active multifamily project located in Sarasota, FL.
Position Overview
The Multifamily Superintendent is responsible for managing all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project closeout. This role is accountable for schedule adherence, quality control, jobsite safety, subcontractor coordination, inspections, and documentation, while maintaining strong working relationships with trades, inspectors, and internal team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare project sites and coordinate installation of temporary facilities required for construction
- Lead preconstruction meetings with critical trades including grading, concrete, framing, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
- Plan, coordinate, and manage daily jobsite activities to meet schedule, quality, and budget goals
- Enforce all jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety protocols
- Conduct regular subcontractor meetings and maintain clear communication across all trades
- Coordinate inspections and re-inspections with local building officials through project completion
- Take ownership of punch list completion and ensure smooth turnover to property/asset management
- Train, mentor, and oversee assistant superintendent(s) as applicable
- Prepare and submit RFIs and coordinate issue resolution with the Project Manager
- Track and document back charges, repairs, and corrective work
- Maintain accurate jobsite documentation including daily logs, safety reports, sign-in sheets, delivery logs, RFIs, and change orders
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices in coordination with the Project Manager
- Maintain control of company-owned tools, equipment, and materials on site
- Uphold company construction standards, methods, and quality expectations at all times
- Foster a professional, respectful jobsite culture with subcontractors, inspectors, and team members
- Work additional hours as needed to meet project milestones
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience in construction, with a strong focus on large-scale multifamily projects
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules, multiple trades, and tight deadlines
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle capable of transporting jobsite supplies
- Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, means, and methods
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project management software
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
Preferred:
- OSHA 30 Certification (OSHA 10 minimum required)
- Experience with project software (MS Project, SureTrak, Procore, and/or Autodesk)
- Strong leadership presence and ability to perform in high-pressure environments
- Ability to clearly communicate policies, expectations, and safety standards to field teams
- Dust control or environmental compliance certifications a plus

Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
